walker branch throughfall displacement experiment (tde)

This data set provides relative leaf area index data for plots in the Walker Branch Throughfall Displacement Experiment (TDE) for a given year (1993-2000) based on the ratio of understory to overstory light.
Seasonal patterns of stand LAI were determined from an index of relative canopy coverage equal to one minus the ratio of the daily sum of understory photosynthetically active radiation (PAR at 1.5 m) to the daily sum of overstory incident PAR. Values were converted to a 0 to 1 scale by referencing raw ratios to the maximum values in late June and the pre-leaf out and post leaf senescen...

Project:
fluxnet
|
|
FLUXNET provides researchers access to consistent and integrated measurements of carbon dioxide, water vapor, and energy fluxes and associated site vegetation, edaphic, hydrologic, and meteorological characteristics. Fluxes and ancillary information are unified into consistent, quality assured, documented, readily accessible datasets via the World Wide Web (http://daac.ornl.gov/FLUXNET/index.html). The collection of data from a variety of worldwide terrestrial ecosystems (including managed systems) will contribute to research on understanding how carbon, water, and nutrient cycles of terrestr...

Project:
aerosol robotic network (aeronet)
|
|
The AERONET (AErosol RObotic NET/work) program is an inclusive federation of ground-based remote sensing aerosol networks established by AERONET and PHOTON and greatly expanded by AEROCAN and other agency, institute, and university partners. The goal of AERONET is to assess aerosol optical properties and validate satellite retrievals of aerosol optical properties.
The network imposes standardization of instruments, calibration, and processing. Data from this collaboration provides globally distributed observations of spectral aerosol optical depths, inversion products, and precipitable water...
