This data set contains 500 meter contour lines showing the elevation

of the state of New Mexico. It is in a vector digital data structure

of the state of New Mexico. The source software is unknown and the

conversion software is AFC/INFO 7.0.3. The size of the file is 2.9

Mb, compressed. Questions regarding raw DEM documentation and

Purpose:
This dataset was created to digitally represent elevation at 500

meter contour intervals for New Mexico. The data are not intended

for large scale applications and are as accurate as the original

data source. The data are intended for use as a general reference

for the 500 meter elevation contour intervals of the state of New

Mexico.

The source contribution came from USGS 1:250,000 scale maps of New

Mexico. Data completeness reflect the content of the source graphic.

The data contains all lines and polygons representing the 500 meter

contour intervals and the New Mexico state boundary. These data meet

National Mapping Accuracy Standards for 1:250,000 scale maps.
