The original data set covered 333 national park units throughout the
Untied States and its territories. The portion for New Mexico was
clipped out using the ARC/INFO clip command.
This data set was compiled from digital spatial data for individual
parks obtained from Park GIS divisions, the NPS Southwest Regional Office
Land Division, and USGS 7.5 minute topographic quadrangle maps. The sources
and scales are listed below.

Reviews_Applied_to_Data:
The Earth Data Analysis Center compared these data with another set
of national park data digitized at a scale of 1:500,000 from a mylar
original map. These data are more accurate in location and scale
than the 1:500,000 scale data.
