and Military reservations in New Mexico at a scale of 1:100,000.
other New Mexico geographic data sets.
The Indian reservation boundaries were acquired from the TIGER/Line
files by using an ARC/INFO aml to convert them to ARC/INFO format. The
attributes were also included in the TIGER data sets. The military reser-
vations were obtained by selecting all polygons containing 'M'
in the Data attribute field of the BLM Land Status data set (LOS0001)
using ARCEDIT functions. The names of the reservations were obtained
from road maps of New Mexico and from personnel of the BLM office in
Santa Fe.
Using ARC/INFO the two data sets were appended to create a
single set. The new data set was cleaned using a dangle length and
fuzzy tolerance of 0.00005. Then the data were edited to remove
dangling and duplicate arcs.
