Walker Branch Watershed Precipitation 01/01/1969 - 12/31/2005
Datasource: Data for Walker Branch Watershed and the Oak Ridge Area
Project: long-term monitoring at walker branch watershed
The long-term Walker Branch Hydrology Monitoring project is intended to document changes in the water balance (precipitation inputs, stream discharge outputs) for the Walker Branch Watershed over time.

This data set contains three data files of precipitation amount (mm) for hourly, monthly, and annual measurement intervals for the years 1969 through 2003. The precipitation data files are periodically updated.

Five gauges were used for part of this study. Contact Pat Mulholland for locations.

Walker Branch Watershed Monthly Climate Data, 1951-1994 01/01/1951 - 12/31/1994
Datasource: Data for Walker Branch Watershed and the Oak Ridge Area
Project: walker branch watershed long-term monitoring
Monthly climate data are presented for Walker Branch Watershed for the period 1951-1994. Monthly data are derived from hourly and daily values collected and summarized by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Atmospheric Turbulence and Diffusion Division (ATDD) located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee at:

Walker Branch Watershed Atmospheric Deposition Data 03/11/1980 - 12/31/2000
Datasource: Data for Walker Branch Watershed and the Oak Ridge Area
Project: national atmospheric deposition program
This data set provides atmospheric deposition data for Walker Branch Watershed. The data were collected during the period 1980 - 2000 as part of the National Atmospheric Deposition Program /National Trends Network.

The National Atmospheric Deposition Program/National Trends Network (NADP/NTN) is a nationwide network of precipitation monitoring sites. The network is a cooperative effort between many different groups, including the State Agricultural Experiment Stations, U.S. Geological Survey, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and numerous other governmental and private entities.

Walker Branch Watershed Daily Climate: 1993-2008 01/01/1993 - 12/31/2008
Datasource: Data for Walker Branch Watershed and the Oak Ridge Area
Project: long-term monitoring at walker branch watershed
As part of the long-term Walker Branch project, daily climate data was collected from instruments associated with a meteorological tower located in an upper slope location within the watershed. These measurements were begun in 1993 as part of the Throughfall Displacement Experiment (TDE) in the control (ambient) plot. Measurements include daily integrated or averaged values for incident photosynthetically active radiation, incident total radiation, air temperature, relative humidity, rainfall, and soil temperature at 10-15 cm. Measurements of incoming rainfall, irradiance (Pyranometer sen...

Walker Branch Watershed AmeriFlux CO2, Water Vapor, and Energy Exchange, 1995-1998 01/01/1995 - 12/31/1998
Datasource: Data for Walker Branch Watershed and the Oak Ridge Area
Project: ameriflux
The Walker Branch Watershed (WBW), Tennessee is part of the AmeriFlux network of field research projects measuring the exchange of carbon dioxide (CO2) between terrestrial ecosystems and the atmosphere.

The data at WBW are from 1995-1998 and consist of in situ micrometeorological measurements of CO2, water, and energy exchange rates using a 44-meter walkup tower. Preliminary data are also available for 1999 at the ftp site.

An eddy-covariance flux system mounted at the Walker Branch Watershed tower is used to measure net carbon dioxide fluxes between the biosphere and atmosphere. To ...

Walker Branch Throughfall Displacement Experiment Data Report, CDIAC/NDP-078A 01/01/1993 - 12/31/2000
Datasource: Data for Walker Branch Watershed and the Oak Ridge Area
Project: walker branch watershed throughfall displacement experiment
This numeric data package provides data sets, and accompanying documentation, on site characterization, system performance, weather, species composition, and growth for the Throughfall Displacement Experiment (TDE). Funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, TDE was established in the Walker Branch Watershed (WBW) in eastern Tennessee to provide data on the responses of forests to altered precipitation regimes. The specific data sets include soil water content and potential, coarse fraction of the soil profile, litter layer temperature, soil temperature, monthly weather, daily weather, hourly ...

Seasonal Pattern of Leaf Area Index at Walker Branch Watershed, Tennessee, USA 01/01/1993 - 12/31/2000
Datasource: rsvwb
Project: walker branch throughfall displacement experiment (tde)
This data set provides relative leaf area index data for plots in the Walker Branch Throughfall Displacement Experiment (TDE) for a given year (1993-2000) based on the ratio of understory to overstory light.

Seasonal patterns of stand LAI were determined from an index of relative canopy coverage equal to one minus the ratio of the daily sum of understory photosynthetically active radiation (PAR at 1.5 m) to the daily sum of overstory incident PAR. Values were converted to a 0 to 1 scale by referencing raw ratios to the maximum values in late June and the pre-leaf out and post leaf senescen...
